Kingdom Finances - Worshiping Him in Spirit & Truth

Our relationship with money is one of the clearest expressions of our worship because it reveals where our trust truly lies, just as Jesus teaches in Matthew 6:21 that where our treasure is, our heart will be also. When we understand that God is righteous, loving, and ultimately in control (Psalm 89:14), it becomes easier to move from selfish ownership to joyful stewardship. The parable of the talents in Matthew 25 shows us that God delights in His children taking responsibility, growing what He’s entrusted to them, and living with purpose. Jesus teaches in John 4:23–24 that true worship happens in both spirit and truth, meaning we live by faith in God’s promises while also submitting to His principles. Worshiping in truth requires humility, discipline, and aligning our finances with God’s Word, even when it stretches us. As Hebrews 12:6 reminds us, God disciplines those He loves because He is shaping us as true sons and daughters. Worshiping in spirit calls us to hold onto hope and expectation even when our current reality doesn’t yet reflect God’s promises. Paul teaches in Romans 5:3–5 that perseverance through tension produces character and hope that will not disappoint. As we work diligently, give faithfully, live wisely, and trust God boldly (Colossians 3:23–24), we begin to truly taste and see His goodness in every area of life.
