Positioned: Where Are You in Relation to Jesus?

Where have you positioned yourself in relation to Jesus. In Jesus day there were many groups (the multitudes, the 72, the 12 and the 3) that believed His message and came out to hear Him, but not all groups positioned themselves in the same way. The multitudes were marked by desperation-they came to Jesus and witnessed His power, but many remained consumers who sought what He could do for them rather than fully following Him. The seventy-two took a step further by actively participating in God's work, discovering the joy, risk, and power that come from serving in the mission of the Kingdom. The twelve went beyond action to a life of surrender, leaving everything behind to follow Christ and gaining a deeper understanding of His heart and His Kingdom. Within the twelve, the three closest disciples were distinguished not by greater ability or knowledge, but by a deeper awareness of Christ's love and a greater intimacy with Him. The challenge for every believer is to ask: Where have I positioned myself, and am I willing to go deeper in my relationship with Jesus?
